Jerry Jordan: An artist’s perspective

  • Manitou Gallery 123 West Palace Avenue Santa Fe, NM, 87501 United States (map)

Jerry Jordan will give a talk about his art career, the path that brought him there, what it has taken to get to where he is now and where he sees himself going from here.

“How does one navigate a 66-year career of becoming an artist, let alone making a living at it? I think I could boil it down to perseverance and persistence. Success is not a destination rather a journey. Getting knocked down in life is a given, but getting up and moving forward is a choice. We are all born to achieve and attain success in our journey of becoming all that is placed within to become, but we must plan to succeed, prepare to succeed and expect to succeed.

Reflecting upon the 66 years of forging my way through the art world, and at having invested the largest portion of my life to my craft, I still look forward to creating and painting, further honing my craft and honoring my God given gifts. There is more within me I would like to share and leave in the world. I think that every artist's work reflects a large portion of their experience here. And so, our art quietly reveals who we are. And now being in the late autumn season of my life, I am also shifting my realization more about making the most of what time I have and how well I can live it.” ~Jerry Jordan
